Saturday Challenge #6 - Scene Card

Hi everyone! It’s Jeannie (InsideoutJeans) on the blog today with Three Room Studio sharing a scene card for this week's Saturday Challenge. Since we're in Fall and close to Winter, I wanted to use the Welcome Winter to create a fun scene card up on the mountains.

To be able to fit all the images from this set into the card, I decide to create a slimline card. I divided it up into three sections, since there are three sets of critters and wanted to create a scene to look like they were chasing each other down the mountain. The tricky part about this is that all of them are facing the same way. I chose to mirror stamp the set of squirrels. To do this, I stamped the image on a piece of leftover acetate and pressed it against my card panel. 

I used a few pieces of masking paper with distress inks to mask off the critters and to create the look of the snowy hills. I also added the night sky right on the very top of the card. Because I didn't want to leave too much white on this card, so I filled it up by stamp out a bunch of trees. 

I colored all my images using copic markers. When I finished, I took some white acrylic paint to add some snow underneath all the critters going down the slopes. To add to the wintery scene, I added white dots all over using a gel pen and a paint pen. 

Finishing off the scene, I took a sentiment from the Welcome Winter stamp set and heat embossed it on black cardstock with white embossing powder.
