Saturday Challenge #34 - Congratulations!
Hello friends! Samantha here and I'll be your host for this weeks Studio Saturday challenge!
The theme for this week is - Congratulations! If you're getting ready for graduation season, this will be a great theme to get you going.
I was so excited to try out the new Hello Friend stamp set! There is something about these ladies that makes me think of a friend leaning into a doorway or window just to say "hi" so that was the "scene" I was trying to create.
I started by blending a scrap of white cardstock to create a subtle background for my "window". I just blending a little Tumbled Glass and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide ink on each end and let them fade into the middle (it's my go to outside background combination).
I die cut a rectangular frame (this one happens to be from Hero Arts but it would be so easy to create from any nesting rectangle set).
I stamped and colored my friend (don't worry about those calves and feet, we won't be needing them this time) and then cut her out with the coordinating dies. I tucked her behind my frame and attached her with adhesive even with the frame and trimmed her legs. I then added thin foam adhesive strips behind the frame and the die cut and adhered the whole piece to the blended background and attached to my card base.
I finished this card with the a large "congratulations" banner using a sentiment from the Cubicle Zirconia stamp set heat embossed onto black cardstock and trimmed to fit across the frame.
