First TRS Weekly Challenge - Non-Traditional Valentine’s Cards and Announcing #TRSCardChallenge

Sandra Boone

Hello, and happy Saturday!

i am so happy to bring you the first of many weekly challenges our design team will be participating in. Each week will be a new prompt, and we hope you will play along!

One of my favourite parts of designing stamps is to see people use them in ways I never even imagined. I absolutely love it when you share your creations with me, and you’ve combined TRS stamps with other company's stamps or used the images in some new and unique way.

So, our design team’s inaugural challenge was to create a Valentine’s Day themed card using non-Valentine’s Day stamps. This was a hard challenge and, oh boy, did they ever deliver!

First up, Allison Cope combined "Loads of Love" and "Moving Sentiments" for this incredible pop-up card!  She said there was a bit of an OSH issue because this lady is not wearing her hard hat, but I think her high-visibility vest makes up for it.  And look at those barrels and boxes!

Jill Taylor combined "Let's Hygge" and "Loads of Love" to make this adorable cuppa love.  I wish I had this mug in real life.

Marilyn Scheller had a Valentine's spa day in mind, using "Doggie Spa Day" for this super cute card!  Our furry friends need some Valentine's Day love, too!

Jill Taylor was on a roll and combined "Retail Therapy" and "Loads of Love" for this second bright and cheery card. Those hearts on the boxes!

Kevin Bray is thinking Valentine's couples spa day, using "Doggie Spa Day" for this soft and pretty card.  It's so relaxing just to look at.  Kevin is a newlywed...can you tell?

And Samantha VanArnhem combined images from "Welcome Little One", "Mermaid at Heart", "Loads of Love", and "Moving Sentiments" to create this precious Valentine for a parent to a child.  Can you even look at this without saying, "Awww..."?  I cannot.

I think you'll agree, our first weekly challenge was a success!  Thank you so much to all the design team members who participated in this challenge and came up with so many fun and unique ways to use non-traditional images for Valentine's Day cards!

So, moving forward, we would love for you to play along!  How about challenging yourself this week to do the same -- use non-Valentine images to make a Valentine's Day card.  Stretch those stamp sets!  There will be a new challenge each week, and if you do participate, please share with us, using #TRSCardChallenge. We want to see what you create, and we'll be on the lookout for cards to showcase!

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Please feel free to leave a comment to show the design team some love, and have a wonderful weekend!
