2020 Fall | Winter Coffee Lover's Blog Hop

Sandra Boone

Hello, friends!

I am once again so thrilled to sponsor, and also be participating today, in the Fall | Winter Coffee Lover's Blog Hop, taking place until Friday, November 13th!

For my card, I used images from "Yay" and "Let's Hygge" to give this lucky lady a MASSIVE mug of coffee.

For the coffee shop background, I used one of our new digital backgrounds, "Coffee Shop".  These backgrounds were created with slimline cards and virtual backgrounds in mind, but there are lots of little details, so they can also be resized and trimmed for any size card.  You can add additional images, or use the background on its own.

This entire card is coloured using Copic Markers and a little Gelly Roll white pen for details.  The blackboard in the digital image is left intentionally blank, so you can stamp or write your own message in.  Here, I wrote in "Try our birthday Blend" in white Gelly Roll, because I gave this card to a coffee-loving friend of mine for her birthday.

I printed the background on Neenah Solar White 110 lb cardstock.  I love this paper for it's thickness and also how it takes marker ink, and I finally figured out how to make it run through my printer without bending and getting stuck.  I discovered this by accident, when I had left the back door of the printer open to fix a paper jam!

The lady and the mug are both stamped and fussy cut using the same cardstock.  Now, the lady's hands in the image are actually up by her face, but I coloured over the tops here, so they would just look like part of her hair.  Then I masked off small areas of the side of the mug when I stamped the image, and drew in a couple simple hands (really just the shape of mittens) to hold the mug.

I then put a bit of craft foam behind the mug, so it stands out a bit in front of her for some dimension.

I trimmed the image to fit on an 8.5" wide slimline card base, with another piece of black cardstock adhered to the back to create a frame, and attached to the card base.
