Welcome to the New Site and Guest Designer - Stephen Kropf!

Sandra Boone

Hello, and welcome to the new site, and new blog!  I'm Sandy, the owner of Three Room Studio and cardmaking enthusiast.
I am always so inspired by so many of the people I have met in this community, and I want to showcase them and their amazing talents as guest designers here.
First up is fellow Canadian, Stephen Kropf.  I met Stephen in person at one of Kathy Racoosin's Daily Marker Road trips at One Crazy Stamper in Bolton, Ontario.  What a great weekend that was. It was my first ever crafty get-together, and the first time I was meeting Kathy in person, as well as Emily Block, owner of Stamping Bella, both such wonderful ladies.
Stephen and I each eventually became Stamping Bella design team members, and I was constantly in awe of the cards he would post, and wished I could design and colour like him.  He is an amazing colourist and artist in his own right, has been on several different design teams, facilitated Copic colouring classes, and is also a really nice person (and dog lover!).
Stephen can be found on Instagram as @stephenkropf, and I would encourage you to follow him there if you don't already!  But make sure you leave yourself some time, because you'll be scrolling his feed for a while, marvelling at his incredible creations.
But now I'll let Stephen do the talking...

Hi Friends! My name is Stephen and I am a fellow stamp and marker addict…I accidentally fell into this wonderful world of card making four years ago and I have never looked back. Almost two years ago, I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Sandy at a Daily Marker road trip location and I can’t tell you how honoured that she asked me to be her first guest designer as she relaunches her blog and online store threeroomstudio.com
I got the pleasure to play with the “Wind In Your Fur” stamp set. Positively perfect for any dog lover in your life. I chose to create a card using the set, but honestly the possibilities are endless… I can totally see this being used for tags, scrapbook pages or even topper on a bag of homemake dog cookies.
I created my scene by stamping and masking off the images which took no time at all. I then coloured it up using my Copic markers. To finish the scene, I used some blue Copics and created a gradation to give the appearance of a wonderful blue sky.
My card layout was designed using an arched window die that I put on its side… It perfectly framed the scene and added a fresh new layer. I proceeded to place it on some grey cardstock that I had done ink blending and spattering on, this too was to add visual interest. I wanted to ensure more depth to my scene so I stamped out the cloud images that come with the set and cut them out. I glued two of them down and popped one up using foam tape. Finally to finish off my card I heat embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder on bright orange cardstock. It added that pop of colour that the card needed to really round the entire design and complete the project.
I have to say, I love this card so much.  The colours, the detail on the mirror, THE FUR!!  And that arched window die is so perfect, echoing the car mirror.
Thank you so much, Stephen!

Love this card! I’ve had Goldens much of my adult life and they all love hanging their heads out the window and enjoying the wind and the smells. Sheer joy on their faces! Thank you Stephen for sharing and I’ll be sure to follow you. 😁😍
